Ms. Ann Feltner, Principal
This will be Ms. Feltner’s 5th year as principal of Saint Peter’s Catholic School in beautiful Beaufort, SC. Ms. Feltner has lived in Beaufort since 1996, and Saint Peter’s is her beloved parish. Ms. Feltner was a Saint Peter’s school parent, a teacher’s aide, a teacher (Pre-K, 3rd grade, 5th grade, as well as middle school Religion and English), and now an administrator. Four of her six children graduated from Saint Peter’s.
Ms. Feltner truly loves Saint Peter’s with a goal to lead this school to excellence and to see that it is always at the heart of this parish. She is truly devoted and committed to Catholic education and believes that our children are the future of the Catholic Church!
Ms. Feltner grew up in Ohio and attended Catholic schools all her life to the 12th grade. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Education program and has completed the Educational Leadership Master’s program at the University of Dayton. She is the mother of six; 5 boys and 1 girl, (ages 21 to 40) and has 9 grandchildren. God is Good all the time!
Mrs. Jessica Green, Executive Assistant
Mrs. Jessica Green has been a member of our Saint Peter’s School family since January 2017. She was born and raised in Beaufort, SC and attended Saint Peter’s Catholic School, when we opened in 1991, before moving. Mrs. Green graduated from The University of South Carolina in Columbia, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Informational Studies with a focus in Public Relations.
She has been married since 2012 to her husband Creg. They have a daughter, Payton, who is enrolled in the K5 program at Saint Peter’s, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, named Sadie.
Teachers
Mrs. Joy Atkins, Pre-K3
Mrs. Joy Atkins is the Pre-K3 teacher at Saint Peter’s. She has been a part of our school family since 2006. She was born and raised here in Beaufort, SC. Joy has always had a love for children and a passion for shaping the lives of others. Joy has a daughter who is enrolled in our K4 class. Mrs. Joy enjoys traveling, helping others, spending time with family and most of all being a mom.
Mrs. Joy loves teaching Pre-K3 and enjoys all the exploring, learning, and fun she is able to have with her students. She is looking forward to sharing many exciting adventures with her students this year!
Mrs. Gail Shannon, Pre-K3 Assistant
Mrs. Gail Shannon is our beloved Pre-K3 Assistant and has been with Saint Peter’s Catholic School since 2000. She was born and raised in Latrobe, PA. She attended Bradford Business Institute in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mrs. Shannon has two daughters, both who attended Saint Peter’s. She enjoys working with the children and loves being part of the Saint Peter’s Catholic School family.
Mrs. Leyla Heightland, Pre-K4 Teacher
Mrs. Leyla Heightland is the Pre-K4 teacher at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. This is her first year at Saint Peter’s but her sixth year of teaching. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Mrs. Heightland is a graduate of Western Governors University where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She obtained a certification in Spanish, Read to Succeed as well as Handwriting without Tears.
Mrs. Andrea Runyan, Pre-K4 Assistant
Mrs. Andrea Runyan is excited to join the wonderful staff of Saint Peter’s Catholic School! She is helping teach the cardinal foundations of the Catholic faith and early learning academics to the Pre-K4 class as their teacher aide.
Mrs. Runyan received her education from Columbia College of SC with a degree in Communication Science and Leadership. She began working in various ministries and positions in Lowcountry churches, all of which involved working with young children. She knew that she had a passion for teaching and helping children connect their life to the Christian faith. She feels beyond blessed to be working here this year.
Mrs. Madison Ritter, Pre-K4 Assistant
Mrs. Madison Ritter is the Pre-K4 Assistant. She is new to Saint Peter’s and the Beaufort area. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, but recently moved here from California. She enjoys spending time with her son and husband traveling and doing anything outdoors.
Mrs. Ritter has a background working with children of various ages in diverse settings. She also attended Northampton Community College for Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Ritter enjoys working with children and loves being apart of their educational journey.
Mrs. Siobhan Magin, Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Siobhan Magin is teaching Kindergarten this year. She and her husband enjoy spending time on the water, playing with their pets, and reading. This is her first year at Saint Peter’s Catholic School.
Mrs. Magin received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a special concentration in the fine arts from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She earned her Master’s in Elementary Education with a focus in children’s literacy at North Carolina State University. She is a parishioner and serves as a Proclaimer of the Word and Eucharistic Minister.
Mrs. Robin Monroe, 1st Grade Teacher
Mrs. Robin Monroe is our first-grade teacher. She has three grown children and has a child in Heaven. She has authored four children’s books over the years. This is her first year at Saint Peter’s Catholic School.
She graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a degree in Elementary Education K-8. She holds a South Carolina teaching certificate in Elementary Education and is certified in Elementary Education by the Association of Christian Schools International. Mrs. Monroe has taught kindergarten, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and K-6th grade art.
Mrs. Christie Mauritz, 2nd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Christie Mauritz is the second-grade teacher at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. She is a native of Greenville, South Carolina and moved to Beaufort two years ago. She is married and has two sons. This is her second year at our school.
Mrs. Mauritz graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education at Columbia College. She has taught in several Catholic elementary schools in Greenville, South Carolina.
Mrs. Donilyn Mills, 3rd Grade Teacher
Mrs. Donilyn Mills is teaching 3rd grade. She is married and has a daughter. She has lived in Beaufort for most of her life. She has been teaching at Saint Peter’s Catholic School for two years as the Librarian/Technology Specialist.
Mrs. Mills graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Education. She holds a Master’s degree in Technology in the Classroom from Lesley University. She has taught third grade for ten years in Beaufort County Public Schools.
Miss Elise Segally, 4th Grade Teacher
Miss Elise Segally teaches fourth grade at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. This is her third year at our school.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, K-6th grades from Kutztown State University in Pennsylvania. She also holds a specialization in Science and Social Studies for grades four through eight. While in Pennsylvania, she taught for two years.
Mrs. Karen Kessinger, 5th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Karen Kessinger begins her seventh year of teaching here at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. Before coming to Saint Peter’s, she taught at Infant of Prague Catholic School in Jacksonville, NC. She teaches fifth grade Elementary Language Arts (ELA), Religion, and Math, as well as sixth grade Religion and Math.
Mrs. Kessinger received her Bachelor of Education degree at UNCW in Wilmington, NC. She is married and has five children and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Holly Mills, 6th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Holly Mills is the sixth-grade teacher at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. This is her third year at our school.
Mrs. Mills attended the University of Georgia, where she studied Liberal Arts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. She completed the elementary teacher program at Wheelock College and obtained a South Carolina certification for grades two through six. She has been teaching in the classroom since 2005.
Mrs. Karin Bennett, PE Teacher/Athletic Director
Mrs. Karin Bennett will be teaching Physical Education at Saint Peter’s Catholic School this year to grades Pre-K3 through sixth grade
Mrs. Bennett graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. For one year she specialized in Elementary Education at Conway Elementary School. She has been at Saint Peter’s for one year and was a first-grade teachers’ assistant during the 2018/2019 school year.
Mrs. Lynne Milner, Art Teacher
Mrs. Lynne Milner is the Art Teacher at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. She has been teaching for over twenty years. This is Mrs. Milner’s third year at our school.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Milner has taught in both public and private schools.
Mrs. Elena Amador, Spanish Teacher
Mrs. Elena Amador is from Colombia, South America. She is married and has one daughter. Mrs. Amador teaches Spanish to all grade levels, Pre-K3 through 6th. This is her third year at Saint Peter’s Catholic School.
Mrs. Amador holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Modern Languages and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has taught English as a foreign language for several years in her home country and has taught the Spanish language while living in France.
Mr. Taylor Runyan, Music Teacher
Mr. Taylor Runyan is the Music Teacher at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. This is his first year at Saint Peter’s.
He received his undergraduate degree from Furman University. Prior to accepting the position of music teacher at our school, Mr. Runyan has had experience with various companies around Beaufort County. He has also been teaching music and giving piano lessons to students during that time.
Mrs. Melanie Coombes, Librarian/Technology Specialist
Mrs. Melanie Coombes is our Librarian/Technology specialist for grades K3 to sixth grade. Mrs. Coombes received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from Norwich University in Vermont. Her elementary certification (K-6) was from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. This is her first year at Saint Peter’s school but her tenth year teaching.
Mrs. Coombes is married and has one child. They have been living in Beaufort for 3 years and are happy to call this home.
Miss Deborah Walter, Learning Center Reading Specialist
Miss Deborah Walter is the Learning Center Reading Specialist for grades 3 through 6th. She holds an undergraduate degree from University of Virginia and a Masters degree from Oglethorpe University in Early Childhood Education, with special postgraduate programs in Reading. In June 2019 she retired after forty years of teaching, the last thirty-one years being with the Department of Defense Schools, overseas and stateside. However, she was not ready to give up supporting students and is delighted to be a part of the St. Peter’s Catholic School family and helping students become stronger readers. During her career she has taught first, second, third, and fourth grades as well as reading and math support. She is a native South Carolinian who having lived abroad, was delighted to return to her roots in South Carolina and the Lowcountry.
Ms. Ana Francisco, Extended Care
Hello! My name is Ms. Ana Francisco. I was born in Tampa, Florida but raised in Dalton, Georgia. I enjoy going on walks/runs when the weather is nice out. I also enjoy looking for shark teeth with my family at the Sands in Port Royal. We own a beautiful pitbull bully named Lexi. My parents moved to St. Helena about 6 years ago to work in the tomato fields. We visited them for quite some time and that’s how we ended up moving here. We have been in Beaufort for 3-4 years. I have been with my husband for 6 years now and we have 2 beautiful children, Briana (5) and Edgar (4). I have enjoyed being part of this wonderful school since my daughter started in K3 in February 2018. I now have both of my kids enrolled at St. Peter’s (K3 and K4). I feel blessed to continue another year here at St. Peter’s with the most amazing staff and families. I speak Spanish with my family and that has helped me connect with some families at St. Peter’s.
Staff
Mrs. Deborah Marzluff, Educational Consultant
Mrs. Deborah Marzluff is the Education Consultant at Saint Peter’s Catholic School. This is her fifth year at our school. Mrs. Marzluff has over forty years in the education field. She has taught in public schools for the majority of her career. She is originally from Charleston and was educated in Catholic schools there. She and her husband graduated from Bishop England High School. They have two sons.
Mrs. Marzluff earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. She furthered her educational studies by earning her Masters in New Professional Studies, Education at George Mason University. She holds a South Carolina teaching credential.
Mrs. Dori Lassey, Learning Center Director
Mrs. Lassey is the Learning Center Director and Reading Specialist for grades K through 6th. She enjoys supporting young students by targeting their specific needs and watching them blossom into readers.
Through her ongoing educational pursuits, Mrs. Lassey has attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Early Childhood Education and an Educational Specialist Degree in Teaching with a focus on literacy. She has taught in Department of Defense schools for thirty-seven years and has over forty-two years’ experience in the field of education. This will be her second year at Saint Peter’s Catholic School.
Mrs. Gil Westerfield, Math Specialist
Mrs. Westerfield retired from Laurel Bay Schools in June 2016 with 27 years of experience in the Department of Defense School System. She is now the Learning Center Math Specialist for second through sixth grades.
Mrs. Westerfield holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s of Education from Cambridge College. She is also certified as a Reading Specialist in grades K through 5th. Last year was her first year at Saint Peter’s Catholic School.
