Hi, my name is Christie Mauritz and I am an elementary school teacher. After much thought and prayer, my family and I decided to move to Beaufort from Greenville, SC last summer. My husband is a chemist and was offered an opportunity to work near the coast, which gave us the chance to have our youngest son, Connor, attend John Paul II Catholic High School. Our other son, Evan, is a junior at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) studying Mechanical Engineering. We are so excited to be in Beaufort and to be parishioners at St. Peter’s! As a very young girl, I knew that I would be a teacher some day because I loved learning new things, but most of all I wanted to sit in the BIG chair and desk like all of my teachers in elementary school! I have a B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbia College and have taught elementary school grades K thru 6 at Prince of Peace Catholic School and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School in Greenville. While teaching I have been working towards a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from College of Charleston. I cannot express how excited and blessed I am to have the opportunity to teach at St. Peter’s Catholic School! Thank you, Jesus for such a beautiful gift. My family and I look forward to meeting many new friends!
