I retired from Laurel Bay School in July 2014 with 37 years of experience in the Department of Defense School System (DDESS). I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Teaching with a primary focus in literacy and language development. My certifications through DDESS and the State of South Carolina meet the qualifications as a classroom teacher for Pre-K through eighth grade and as a Reading and Language Arts specialist up to twelfth grade.
I am married to Don Lassey (USMC, retired). Together we have five children, five grandchildren, and two dogs. In my four years of retirement, I have enjoyed the extra time with my family and friends, tutoring, time at the YMCA, sewing, and, traveling. I have participated in numerous courses through OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) through the University of South Carolina. I look forward to supporting the students of St. Peter’s in their literacy development.
