I grew up in Charleston, SC where I attended St. John Catholic School and Bishop England High School. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina and my Masters of Arts Degree in New Professional Studies, Education from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. I hold a Virginia Postgraduate Professional Teaching License for Grades Pre K through Grade 8. My most recent positions include being an Adjunct Professor, supervisor and mentor for new teachers at George Mason University, as a supervisor and mentor to Science teachers in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia and as a faculty mentor for the Bachelor of Individualized Studies program at George Mason University. I also taught grades 2, 4, 5 and 6 for a total of over 20 years in the classroom. Currently, I serve as an Education Consultant and as the Military Advocate for St. Peter’s Catholic School. My husband, Pete, and I have been married for 43 years. We have two grown sons who are married. Both sons are on active duty in the United States Navy. We have five grandchildren ranging in ages from 10 years to 4 months. We are delighted to be back in their home state of South Carolina after 32 years of military service.
